Ascend The Silver Chair

Ascend The Silver Chair

Ascend the silver stair
Atop the wetted stone
Side-step feet well apart
Ten toes before the flow
Shoulder sleeve to elbow
Proximity to the touch
Care taken for the room
Enough to maneuver
Thumb to fore-finger draws
Down the steel teeth to part
Tucked folds of cloth prearranged
An obstacle to Ganesh
Bent fore-finger seeks space between
Layers, poke and dig
Locate the velvet measure
Hook round the weighted rigg
A simple one flicked motion
Then the length stretched full to clear
Hung downward on its weight
One long breathe expelled
Muscle relaxation sighed
Taking in the company
Ascertain who is the hustle
Swiveled up and down across
Around from side to side
Depending on whose sight I catch
It’s all up to the eyes
